Chief Raymond Ihyembe has over 40 years of banking and financial services experience. He joined the banking industry in 1977 and first, worked with the Nigeria Bank for Commerce and Industry from where he joined IBWA, which later became Afribank Nigeria.
He rose to become the first MD/CEO of Afribank International Limited (Merchant Bankers). He later became Executive Director (International and Corporate Banking) with Afribank Nigeria. Later became Group Managing Director of Afribank Nigeria Plc between 1999-2002.
Chief Ihyembe started his working career with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) where he worked as a Petroleum Engineer from 1974-1976.
Chief Raymond Ihyembe was at one time also appointed a Consultant by the World Bank to undertake a review of SME Industrial Development Projects in the Yemen, Arab Republic in 1989.
He has also served on the Boards of more than 10 different Companies either as Chairman or Director.
